The United States of America occupied the Philippines between 1898 and 1946 and abandoned many WWII army jeeps in their wake. Filipinos took these hideous hunks of blah green metal, tools of war and colonialism, and transformed them into beautiful jeepneys, a public transportation system and cultural icon.

The artist JEEPNEYS (Anna Luisa Petrisko) comes from a Lola and Lolo who had a thriving Jeepneys business, which grew from a single jeep purchased after a lucky lottery.

Jeepneys releases music.

Jeepneys also makes videos and visual art.

Jeepneys is a member of Black Salt Collective.
